Tips for a Successful Maternity Session

  • Make sure you have nailed down outfits. Yes I provide a full client closet, however, make sure you have searched through my list to find what you like. If I don't have what you are looking for, please have a dress ready for yourself the day of your session. I will ask about you using the client closet, however If you do not do a try on session or let me know what dresses you want, I won't bring them.
  • Make sure you take time for yourself. If you're wanting to have your hair and nails done prior to your session, try to schedule those appointments in advance. If you plan on tanning, please give your tan time to settle. White dresses are not permitted with fresh spray tans because of the risk of staining. Along with that, please do not wear heavy make-up that could rub off onto dresses.
  • Make sure your partner is ready for photos too! and if you have other kids. I do have some extra outfits if needed, but please let me know ahead of time if you need help.
  • Let's nail down a location! Locations are a huge part of your session! Make sure your location and dress match the vibes you wish to achieve for your special day.
  • Want to have a few sentimental photos? Bring your babies ultrasound photos! Or even a onesie or a pair of shoes! These always make the cutest photos! and it also helps give your session a little extra variety.
  • At the end of your session, I will ask if I have missed any poses you may have wanted. This is huge. If you feel like you might want more, please speak up. I sadly do not have magic powers and cannot turn back the hands of time.
  • Photo Viewing Sessions - These are not required but help speed up your return time on your photos. They are typically a quick 20 to 30 minute coffee session with me, where you get to choose your photos with me. This speeds up time and saves me from editing the photos you do not want. Again, this is not a requirement for your Maternity shoot. I do ask you to come for your newborn session. This simply speeds up editing time, and gives me time to answer any extra questions you might have about how you want me to edit your photos.
